If you work in an office, you have to get there somehow, and that can be done in many ways. The only question is how willing you are to move!
After sitting all day it does you good to move your limbs, but worn out from the day’s grind we do not much feel like going to the gym… So what is the solution to staying fit and healthy?
Your company can even support you in this, and with a survey created on the QuizOffice site you can easily and simply assess your employees’ commuting habits!
Here are the sporty versions of getting to work!
On foot
Yes, we know, walking all the way to work sounds steep at first, so this form of commuting is only advisable if:
- either you really love walking and setting off in good time is no problem,
- or the office is not an hour away from you… by public transport!
Walking can rather be built in for nearby workplaces that can be reached on foot within half an hour. If you already find the journey long by public transport, then save yourself the attempt of randomly setting off on an office day, because that will not be a one-hour walk!

By (electric) scooter
Before you choose, first ask yourself the following questions:
- Do you already have a scooter of any kind at home?
- How much do you like sport?
- If you do not have a scooter, are you planning to buy one?
- How far away is your workplace?
The traditional, foot-powered scooter tends to be used by children, but if you have one at home and you like travelling on it, and you have enough stamina to ride it into the office, then go for it!
We would rather recommend the electric scooter, though — partly because it is faster, it does not put a strain on your legs (especially if your job means you have to move about a lot in the office as well), and you do not get sweaty on it by the time you arrive at work. And partly because it is easy to “get hold of”: the rentable version is already available in big cities, as with bicycles!
With one company invoice you have already taken care of your colleagues’ health, to which sport contributes! Or are you afraid it would be unnecessary, because you do not know how many people would make use of the option?
Create a survey in QuizOffice, and send it to your colleagues! You can do all this within the system; you only have to register on the site as a company and add the email addresses!

Bicycle
If there is a proper cycle path, there is nothing standing in your way! Just hop on your bike and off you roll to work. It does not even matter if you woke up a bit tired; by the time you get there by bike, the wind will have blown the sleepiness out of your eyes. And another plus point is that you do not have to fit in with any public transport. You set off when you want to — though of course time it so that you get there on time — and after work you can head home whenever you like.
But if you do not have your own bike, you can rent one, or use the bicycles placed around the city specifically for this purpose, such as MOL Bubi, Lime, etc. Just as with the scooter, company support can come in handy here too!
What if it rains? Buy a raincoat!
On the way to work it is understandable that getting soaked is frustrating, since your make-up runs, your suit gets drenched, and you do not even have a change of clothes with you…
If you cycle to work, you have to prepare for this consciously! Always keep a change of kit at work in case you come off badly like that; and in the afternoon, who minds getting wet on the way home? In summer, in the great heat, a little cooling rain is even welcome!

Public transport
It does not sound very sporty, but if the stop is far from you, you have to change several times and still walk a lot in between, then even this is better than nothing.
But if you are lucky enough to be able to get to your workplace very easily and in a short time by public transport, and yet you would like to do some sport, then you can leave out one of the means of transport and cover that stretch on foot. And if a single service takes you all the way to work, then walk a few stops and only get on after that.

Whatever you choose, the point is to make a start somewhere and to keep it up!
Create a survey with the help of QuizOffice, to see how much demand there would be at company level for options like these — even for buying bicycles for the workplace! You do not even have to bother with evaluating the data, the programme does that for you too!
