In our previous article we got to know how to use QuizOffice, and now let’s carry on with creating worksheets!

How to create a worksheet!

In order to be able to prepare a worksheet, you have to set your user profile to the “Teacher dashboard”. Once you have done this, you can already see the “Recording worksheets” menu item on the left. By clicking on it you can start the process.

  1. First of all, let’s give a category, with which we can choose which folder our test should go into. The categories we have created ourselves always come at the very top, so it will not be hard to find the company category, especially if we do not have many folders of our own.
  2. Next choose the year group, so that it is clear who the worksheet is for, and then give its type. Will it be a practice set of questions? Or will it be used for real as an exam? Here you can set it so that the person filling it in can see straight away what has been put up in the study group.
  3. The title you give should be unambiguous, but if you cannot express this in a title, then in the description you can explain at greater length what the worksheet is for and what purpose it serves.
  4. You can also set a cover image There are options uploaded into the system by us. If you click on the image, you can also look at it enlarged, and if you click the square in the bottom left corner, you can select it with that. Once you have it, click the “Select” button at the top of the page.
  5. You can also add sound and a task image with the same process you read about in the previous point.
  6. Below all this you can also set other properties, such as: whether the preview should be enabled, whether it should show an explanation, how many times the test can be completed (number of attempts), time limit, etc., and in the same place you can give the difficulty level of the worksheet and the minimum requirement.
  7. Once the settings listed above have been made, then you can do four things with it:
  • you can save what you have done so far, so that it is definitely kept,
  • you can try it out,
  • you can look at its data,
  • or you can view in preview how the final test will look.
  1. At the very bottom of the page you can add the questions to the worksheet.
  2. Do not forget to save when you have finished!

Question types

The nature of the tasks can already be worked out relatively easily from the names of the types, but we would nevertheless like to explain them in a few sentences in order to avoid misunderstandings:

  • Single answer: you give a question which has one correct answer.
  • Multiple answers: you give a question which has several correct answers.
  • Text: an answer has to be given in text to the question asked or to the task given.
  • True/False: you have to decide of the given statements whether they are true or false.
  • Order: the given statements have to be placed in order, e.g.: Put the following animals in order according to their size: dog; cat; mouse; elephant.
  • Matching: in accordance with the task, the given image has to be matched with the appropriate text, or identical expressions have to be matched, etc.
  • Selection: of the options listed you have to find the one featured in the task and then click on it, thereby marking the given answer.
  • Drag: the correct text has to be dragged onto the image it belongs to.
  • Question list: you can give several questions at once, with answer options A and B for each. The correct answer has to be chosen from these.
  • Supply the word: a word or a piece of text is missing from a given sentence, and you have to type it in yourself.
  • Find the word: a word or a piece of text is missing from a given sentence, and you have to drag it in from the given options.

You can put the worksheet together from these options.

After you have given the question, in the question’s description you can set out the task in more detail, and in the question’s explanation you can explain why the given answer is the correct one. This will then be set out at the end of the test, with the result.

And for every question type there are individual settings regarding the giving of the question and the answer: there are some where only an image can be given, some where only text, and some where both. You can choose an image from the images given in the system, but you can also upload your own by clicking the “My media library” icon above the “Media library” heading.

The points awarded for the questions likewise have to be set individually, question by question, so you can distinguish the tasks according to their difficulty: the harder one can earn more points for its solution, while for the simpler one fewer points can be received.

And you can also vary the evaluation of the scores:

  • Only a 100% correct solution receives points.
  • The correct answers receive points.
  • A correct answer receives plus points, an incorrect one minus points.

Once you have finished with every question, save the worksheet. If you would like to edit something in it, then you will find the worksheet on the left, under “Your company worksheets”, in the category you saved it to. Opening it here you can make changes in it, and then publish it when you have finished with it.
